Another Chance for Lakeshore Administrative Building

The City of Knoxville has chosen Elizabeth Eason Architecture to produce a schematic design plan for the Administrative Building at Lakeshore Park. The building was built in 1884 in the Victorian style with Gothic Revival influences. Reports say that it was once the original hospital on the site, but then later was used for administration purposes. The building closed in June of 2012; however, the City of Knoxville is exploring options for its use. There are many historic details to be preserved and restored: a stately wooden stair case, tall windows reaching almost from floor to ceiling, and many Victorian fireplaces. Elizabeth Eason Architecture looks forward to working with the City of Knoxville and Knox Heritage to produce a schematic plan for the revitalization of the building.
