Construction will begin soon on a custom residence at Brush Creek Farm, near Clarksville, Tennessee. Our team is working towards a net zero energy goal. With a current HERS rating of -3, the project is also reaching for LEED Platinum. The house has many different environmental designs to help achieve this. Geothermal systems will be used for heating and cooling as well as a 10kwpv system to generate power from sunlight. There will also be a rainwater harvesting system to collect water for various gardens on the property. The home will be constructed with an advanced framing system, which requires more planning up front but reduces the cost and amount of materials in the long run. Some unique features of the home also include reclaimed oak wood floors on the first floor with wood from a tobacco barn on the property. The living room will also feature a mantle from the 1880s that has been restored by the homeowner. We are looking forward to construction starting this month and be sure to look for progress updates here throughout the summer and fall!
