The staff of Elizabeth Eason Architecture recently took a field trip to check on the construction of one of our projects.
The three houses in the Mechanicsville Commons neighborhood are Habitat for Humanity Homes. April 18 was kick off day for Habitat’s 2009 Blitz Build, during which 6 homes would be built from the ground up by more than 2,000 volunteers.
Elizabeth Eason Architecture is continuing to work with Knoxville Habitat for Humanity on upcoming projects. Director of Programs Tom Pfalzer discussed some of the lessons he and volunteers learned while building the Mechanicsville homes, which will help the design process for future houses.
Once the six homes are complete, Knoxville Habitat for Humanity will have built 363 homes since 1985.
