Gordon Residence
The Gordon family approached Elizabeth Eason Architecture seeking an addition to their 1920s historic brick home. They wanted a new family room, laundry room, mud room, second floor office and complete kitchen remodel, as well as some new outdoor living space.
The new addition, which respects the historic character of the existing home, includes a front porch leading into the mudroom. The mudroom has built-in storage space for shoes, book bags, soccer balls, and more, helping keep this busy family organized.
The family room addition has built-in bookshelves and high windows on three sides to allow plenty of natural light. On the back side, doors open to a screen porch and deck.
Increased counter top area in the kitchen creates a place for the family to cook together. The kitchen remodel also includes a seating area that creates a quiet space to sit, have tea and enjoy the views of the backyard.
