Forest Heights Addition
The Gordon family approached Elizabeth Eason Architecture seeking an addition to their 1920s historic brick home. They wanted a new family room, laundry, mudroom, second floor office, complete kitchen remodel, and an outdoor living space.
The addition respects the historic character of the existing home and adds a front porch leading into a mudroom. The mudroom has built-in storage space for shoes, book bags, plus soccer balls, and as a result, helps keep this busy family organized.
The family room addition has built-in bookshelves and high windows on three sides to allow plenty of natural light. On the back side, doors open to a screen porch and deck.
Increased counter top area in the kitchen creates a place for the family to cook together. The kitchen remodel includes a quiet seating area to have a cup of tea and enjoy the views of the backyard.
